Skills Development

As well as looking at your academic qualifications and work experience, increasingly employers are looking for evidence of other, transferable skills- such as teamworking, leadership or presentation skills. Here are some ways you can identify the skills you have, think about the skills you need, and close the gap between them:
How to analyse and promote your skills for work - a publication available free to current students. Available from the Careers Information Room.
MBTI personality profiling: Considers your values and natural ways of doing things - a useful way of identifying your strengths. See forthcoming events for more details
Talk to a Careers Adviser - they may be able to help you think about the skills you have developed through certain activities. Bring a copy of your CV along to a quick query as a starting point.
