Themes_

The Development sector can be more fully understood if we take into account the number of issues or themes that it incorporates. These are recognisable arenas but do not, as yet, have very clearly defined career paths.

These areas include Human Rights, Peace and Conflict, Refugees, Environment and Development Education. People working within these themes may be operating in almost any of the sectors and roles defined elsewhere on this site.

As with other areas of Development establishing a career requires a balance of relevant experience, qualifications, skills and evidence of commitment.

We will be including increasing amounts of careers information about these and other themes as the site develops. Use the left menu to access our new page on Human Rights.
