Disclosure

½ day course

Have you ever been asked for advice on disclosure and felt a little out of your depth? Are you aware of changes to legislation that might affect the advice you give? Would you like to practice your CEIAG with a range of scenarios (helping you build your knowledge and confidence)? Then this course may be for you.

Dyslexia Awareness

1 day course

This course will be useful for people who come into contact with those who have dyslexia. This might be in person via the reception, across the information desk, during a guidance interview or at an event. It could be in writing through publicity material, application forms or information on the website. If your role involves communicating with students, graduates, colleagues and employers in any format, then an understanding of dyslexia is key.

Supporting clients with mental health issues

½ day course

Have you encountered a client whose behaviour you found challenging to deal with and whom you suspected had some form of mental health issue? This course will look at customer contact skills and strategies that will help you to identify and deal with common behaviours associated with mental health issues. The focus of the session will be on language and engagement, and how we can use skills such as sensitive questioning and summarising to help with communication, boundaries and building confidence.

Deaf Awareness

½ day course

How do you spot a deaf person?
How do you communicate effectively with a deaf person?
What is it like to be deaf?
What are reasonable adjustments?

All these questions and more will be answered on this Deaf Awareness course. Changing understanding of and attitudes to hearing loss can change deaf people's lives. We invite you to join us for a walk in deaf shoes.
