Hi again Faizan, turns out you were exactly right. When we converted the recipe to make it shareable the url got abbreviated which meant it wouldn’t work for anyone else. So are investigating with ifttt and will be blogging a new set of instructions shortly. thanks for your input Best, Jeff

No worries: by appending 0000-000000000000&cv=False at the end of the link I’ve managed to get it to work for me. For anyone else who had the same problem, the full URL thus looks like:

Hi Faizan, I’m a little puzzled. I use that recipe to get those vacancies. I understood that once a recipe is made other users shouldn’t need to do anything other than use it.

I’m going to take another look at this tomorrow and let you know if I can resolve it. Otherwise you could just make your own recipe by doing a relevant search on jobonline, then clicking on the RSS feed for that search and then use that RSS feed in the ifttt recipe. I can’t say its easy – especially for me but don’t give up on it just yet! thanks for writing. Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the effort and consideration in making the email alert. After having tried it out, however, I’ve been notified that the actual feed used in the IFTTT recipe doesn’t seem to work..?

I tried using blogtrottr.com and then the W3C Feed Validation Service ( http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fjobonline.thecareersgroup.co.uk%2Fcareersgroup%2Fstudent%2FRssFeed.aspx%3Fjs%3D9E8B85C2-0425-4480-9787-05F1C27EA4B1%2C7C630C65-062A-4E11-B5BD-638B88D6B368%26vt%3D00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000%26h%3D00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000%26st%3D%26dl%3D00000000-0000-0000- ) which both said the same thing..
