Thank you for a very useful blog and facebook page, a great resource.

Just one question though – why do you only seem to focus on King’s students?

The blog is King’s oriented because that’s where I’m based. The Facebook page is a joint effort by colleagues from The Careers Group, University of London and I happen to be an active poster in that group. Birkbeck students fall within the ambit of The Careers Group so I’m particularly glad you find the material useful. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. Best, Jeff

Hi there

I have been job hunting for 18 months, nearly 200 applications later I am really struggling. I am absolutely determined to work in international development, I have been since I was about 14, I have two great degrees, fantastic work experience and a whole lot more to give. I have already paid out to have my C.V re-written and it had no effect- in fact I feel quote ripped off! An unpaid internship isn’t an option there is no way I can afford to live and my parents don’t live in London- is there a secret I’m missing?

Thanks

Charlotte

Hi Charlotte, I was in very similar situation for very long time. Finaly I decided to leave London and try my luck at the other end of the world. It worked out pretty well. If you want you can contact me via Jeff (if he doesn’t mind to share my email address) and I will tell you more. Best, Adrienn
