Posted by Amanda Taylor

In an age of increasing competition for jobs, getting yourself noticed and building your own personal brand has never been more important.

This importance is accentuated in the creative sector, and when applying for jobs in advertising or the media, making a lasting impression may be the make or break between getting hired or being forgotten.

There is no better platform for you to get yourself noticed and make a lasting impression than with your CV.

The humble CV is probably the most important document that you could send to a prospective employer, and the importance of writing a good one is a topic which never fails to excite attention and debate.

Keeping your CV current and interesting to employers is, for many job-seekers, a difficult task, but for people in the media industry it is imperative to present your skills in a way which will appeal to employers. Sometimes your standard paper CV just won’t cut it.

Enter the infographic CV.

The infographic CV is a fantastic way to innovatively showcase your skills and achievements, and can be far more appealing to employers than a list of your achievements on paper.

They allow you not only to demonstrate your talent for design and good layout, but also provide you with a fantastic platform to show the recruiter your personality, and style of work and writing.

This is possibly the biggest benefit of the infographic CV and undoubtedly a jazzy and interactive document will excite more attention than a paper CV.

Although infographic CVs are not a new idea, there are few other ways to make a bigger impression on media recruiters.  This blog by Jonathan Frost shows some of the success that can be achieved with this innovative self branding platform.
